Times and dates
The times don't match my mosque
Open Settings in Siyam and check the calculation Method and the Asr setting; your mosque's timetable usually says which it uses. If suhoor should end a few minutes before Fajr, set Suhoor ends before Fajr. In places far from the equator, the High-latitude rule changes how Fajr and Isha are worked out in summer.
The Hijri date is a day off
Siyam starts from the Umm al-Qura calendar, and communities often start months a day earlier or later. In the Calendar tab, tap Adjust to move a month, or all months, by a day. When Ramadan or Shawwal may be starting, Today also asks whether the month began where you are.
The times are for the wrong place
Tap the place name on Today, or go to Settings → Location, to search for a city or use your current location. Turn on Update automatically to have Siyam follow you when you travel.
Reminders and alarms
I'm not getting reminders
Check that notifications are allowed for Siyam in the iPhone Settings app (Notifications → Siyam). If you use a Focus, allow Siyam or turn on Time Sensitive notifications so suhoor reminders come through. Opening Siyam now and then keeps the next weeks of reminders scheduled.
The suhoor alarm doesn't ring
The suhoor alarm needs iOS 26 or later and Siyam Premium. When you turn it on, allow alarms for Siyam; if you said no before, allow them in the iPhone Settings app under Siyam. On earlier versions of iOS, Siyam sends a suhoor notification instead.
Widgets and the Lock Screen
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Siyam. The small widget is free; the medium and Lock Screen widgets come with Premium.
How do I get the iftar countdown on my Lock Screen?
On a fast day, during fasting hours, tap Start iftar countdown on Today. It comes with Premium and needs Live Activities allowed for Siyam.
Premium and purchases
I bought Premium but it isn't showing
In Siyam, go to Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In Siyam, go to Settings → Manage subscription, or in the iPhone Settings app tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Ramadan tracking, reminders and your make-up count stay free.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles App Store payments and refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
Where is my data stored?
Only on your iPhone. Siyam has no account and no servers; see the privacy policy.
How do I export or delete my data?
In Siyam, go to Settings → Your data. Export data saves everything as files you can keep; Delete all data removes it from your iPhone.
I got a new iPhone. Will my fasts move over?
If you move to your new iPhone from a backup or with Quick Start, Siyam's data comes with the rest of your apps. Siyam doesn't sync to iCloud by itself, so it's worth exporting your data first as a copy.
About Siyam
Does Siyam give religious rulings?
No. Siyam helps you plan and keep track of your fasts; it doesn't rule on questions of fiqh. For those, please ask a scholar you trust. Siyam isn't medical advice either: if you have a health condition, ask your doctor before fasting.
